As market conditions and customer requirements keep changing, packaging suppliers need the ability to scale up together with their clients. To meet this need, Emballator expanded its Växjö plant in Sweden, lifting overall production capacity, technical capability and operational flexibility.
The project renovated an old workshop that was not fully used, turning it into a modern, high-efficiency production space. Major upgrades included opening up the ceiling, fitting a bigger overhead crane, setting dedicated lanes for AGV automated transport robots, plus updates to the factory cooling and compressed air systems.
After the rebuild, the workshop now holds 8 machine stations, up from the original 5. Six of these spots are reserved for bigger injection moulding machines. This boosts current production and leaves extra room to add more capacity later when new customer projects come in.
The upgraded area already has spare capacity ready for new orders. AGV transport also makes material movement inside the factory much smoother. With rising market demand, this expanded workshop lets Emballator serve both existing and new customers more flexibly.
Anna Hammarstedt, Technical & Maintenance Manager at Emballator, said the investment aims to build capacity and flexibility so the company can grow alongside its customers. Optimising the Växjö production hall strengthens Emballator’s ability to handle larger orders and new projects, and keep deliveries reliable for many years ahead. The redesigned workshop also leaves space for continuous process improvements as market needs shift.
This expansion is built for long-term growth. More machine slots, modern infrastructure and streamlined production workflows help the site deliver high-quality closure products to meet a wide range of customer specifications.
Equipment installation is already in progress. The first injection moulding machine was placed in the new hall at the start of 2026. Four more large injection moulding units will be fully running by the end of this year to further lift production strength.
For brand owners and industrial buyers needing reliable high-performance caps and closures, this investment brings higher production volume, better scalability and a more stable supply chain. The added capacity not only handles bigger order sizes, but also improves long-term product consistency and delivery reliability.
The Växjö upgrade is part of Emballator’s continuous plan to expand manufacturing capacity and bring more value to all customers. More site improvements are already in the pipeline, to further streamline material flow and maximise machine utilisation as market demand keeps growing.
